One of the most well-known hiking routes in the world, the Classic Inca Trail takes travellers over the breathtaking Andes to the ancient site of Machu Picchu, often known as the “Lost City of the Incas.” This well-known 4-day trek covers over 26 miles (42 km) and travels through a variety of environments, including as sub-tropical jungles, high-altitude meadows, and cloud forests.
